Rs5 Abt Price
When the Audi RS5 Sportback first debuted, it was actually quite out-gunned on paper, compared to some of its competitors. The Mercedes-AMG C63 S and Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio both make more power (502 hp and 505 hp, respectively) than the RS5 (444 hp). Admittedly, it's just as quick as those cars in a straight line, so maybe Audi is being a bit conservative with its power figures. But still, some RS5 owners might want some factual bragging rights. If so, they can always turn to ABT Sportsline, whose RS5 Sportback tuning kit bumps up the power big time.
If you spring for ABT Sportsline's power kit for the RS5, you car becomes an Audi RS5-R Sportback, which just sounds cool. But it also looks much more aggressive and packs much more power. How much more power? Well, thanks to an engine tune, a new air intake, new exhaust and auxiliary water cooler, the Audi RS5-R Sportback makes a whopping 530 hp from its 2.9 liter twin-turbocharged V6. Pushing power even further, the stock RS5's 443 lb-ft of torque becomes a much healthier 501 lb-ft.
That's a lot of power and enough to get from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in an ABT-claimed 3.6 seconds. We reckon it might even be quicker than that.
Additionally, ABT Sportsline added some unique visual and aerodynamic upgrades to make the Audi RS5-R Sportback look as powerful and aggressive as it is. "The most important features in the Sportback are a comprehensive aerodynamics package and a significant power boost," explains CEO Hans-Jürgen Abt.
With its giant black wheels, gloss black trim pieces and carbon fiber aero bits, it looks incredibly angry, especially in contrast to the white paint of the car in these photos. We think that's a good thing, espcially because the standard RS5 Sportback is a bit too reserved looking. On the inside, carbon fiber adorns the cabin, including on the steering wheel and dashboard.
To make it handle as well as it accelerates, the Audi RS5-R Sportback also gets new adjustable coilover suspension. That height-adjustable setup also gets new front and rear stabilizer bars, so it should stay nice and flat through corners.
This comprehensive kit, which comes with the power bump, all of the added carbon fiber aero and trim bits, the new interior, the upgraded exhaust and the large wheels, costs €29,900 (around $33,000). That's not an insignificant amount of money but it does come with a significant amount of upgrades. If you shell out that much money, you're turning your standard RS5 into something more and that's worth the money in our opinion.
